Stage Delicatessen in Atlantic City, New Jersey is one of the most sought after locations on the boardwalk. It is located on the boardwalk (inside the Taj Mahal Hotel), but started out of a small deli on the corners of 48th Street and Broadway, in New York City. Max Asnas opened the location in 1937 and served foods from his country of Russia. At this New York location, everyone from actors to comedians to politicians and police officers made it a habit to stop in. With this success, opening another location in Atlantic City seemed to be the right thing to do and was done years later by new owners of the Stage Deli.
The Stage is known mainly for the quality food that is available on the menu. Sandwiches including the over stuffed versions of corned beef and pastrami are very popular. Other options include some 24 different sandwich variations. Or, enjoy boiled chicken in the pot, homemade meat loaf or perhaps a Romanian skirt steak. Cheese blintzes are popular as are smoked fish platters. These traditional foods are bursting at the seams and all is made from the finest of ingredients.
Guests can also enjoy dessert including apple strudel, carrot cake, rugelach, and Stage Deli cheesecake, which is served as a huge portion that could feed three people. Breakfast is also served at Stage Deli. Here, you can enjoy omelets, home made pancakes as well as smoked fish and bagels.
The atmosphere is laid back, fun and lively. Guests will enjoy a range of options in food choice.
Catering is available for private parties, groups and corporate events. Tours can also be done when booked in advance.
