Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts near Atlantic City, NJ is located in the 20-mile stretch of New Jersey beach that is referred to as Cape May. The center is right in the middle of the Emlen Physick Estate, which was an 18-room house built in the 1800s and scheduled for demolition. Although the Victorian mansion, at one time, was a place of beauty, years of neglect had taken its toll. The had become abandoned and later vandalized.
