A two star restaurant in Atlantic City, Jonathon's on West End offers a sumptuous spread of American cuisine in a chic ambience.
The menu is mostly innovative takes on basic dishes and reflects Chef Jonathon Karp's eclectic expertise gained in his many years in the restaurant business. The in-house specialty, which is also named after Jonathon's late grandmother, Alice, is a honey-glazed shrimp appetizer, tossed in a honey and brandy applesauce. The Chilean sea bass with an ancho-honey glaze and the Seafood Gumbo come specially recommended. You can also treat your taste buds to the exquisite flavors of the blacked raspberry filet mignon served on a bed of steamed spinach with grilled Portobello mushrooms and garlic raspberry sauce or the Pasta-eggplant Florentine over risotto. For the perfect end to a delightful meal, you can feast on a helping of Death by Chocolate, a sinful, three-layer chocolate cake.
The restaurant is also as well known as its outstanding view of the sunset as its scrumptious food. The dining hall is cozy without being cramped while the lighting is soft to allow you to relax and savor the meal. With soft music playing in the background and negligible noise levels, the focus here, is on the food, just like Chef Jonathon intends it to be. The bar serves an assortment of alcoholic beverages and you can even choose to be seated at the indoor bar. The entrees are priced from $12 to $20 and the dress code to be followed is business casual. The staff is friendly, professional and very attentive.
