Outdoor Activity Center in Atlanta, GA
The Outdoor Activity Center can be found just a few miles from downtown Atlanta and consists of over 26 acres of forested land full of adventures and learning programs for children. The original facility opened in 1972 and has grown in both stature and popularity since then.

The museum provides a natural learning experience with many attractions worth visiting including a huge fish tank set up exactly like a natural outdoor pond. Here you can learn about a number of fish breeds including crappie, perch and catfish and if you visit at certain times you can watch the staff hand feed some of the fish.
Outside, the Outdoor Activity Center offers an extensive interactive playground area where children can learn about nature and ecology in safety. They can also take part in nature tours around the 3.5 miles of hiking trails and enjoy demonstration classes in the tree house classroom and in the composting area. There are plenty of activities available that are suitable for all ages however children have to be at least preschool age to join in the fun without adult supervision. Both the Outdoor Activity Center and the Natural Science Museum are open from 9am to 4pm Monday through to Saturday and admission is free.
