The excitement of possible playoff implications will fill the Georgia Dome as division rivals Falcons and Panthers battle it out during the second to last week of the season. In a match-up of extreme opposites, the poise and consistency of Carolina's quarterback Jake Delhomme will be tested against the arm strength, agility and flair of Atlanta's Michael Vick as the two teams aim towards the same goal with very different game plans. While traditionalists are likely to find Delhomme and the Panther's style of play to be more appeasing, it is hard to argue the fact that Vick has breathed a breath of fresh air into, and expanded the possibilities, of the quarterback position.
Quarterbacks are far from the only thing these two teams have to offer though. Carolina's defensive secondary, loaded with Shaun Williams and Mike Minter, will be looking to disrupt Vick's passing all game long. Of course, with help from tightend Alge Crumpler, and runningback Warrick Dunn looking to draw focus on the running game, this should be quite a match-up that could possibly define the post-season of both teams.
