Begin your tour of Greece with an overnight flight* to the capital city of Athens.
Day 2: Athens, Greece - Tour Begins
Your vacation begins in Athens, where you will enjoy a welcome dinner and become acquainted with your fellow travelers. The dinner will be served in a traditional tavern in Athens’ historic district, the Plaka. You will enjoy Greek entertainment and feast upon local specialties and wine.
Day 3: Athens
A tour of Athens will introduce you to the city’s major landmarks including the Royal Palace, the Olympic Stadium, the Temple of Zeus, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and of course the amazing Acropolis! You will also receive some language instruction today to help you interact with locals.
Day 4: Athens - Mykonos
Sail across the beautiful Aegean Sea to the island of Mykonos, known for its beautiful Mediterranean climate and its vibrant nightlife.
Day 5: Mykonos
Spend a leisurely day exploring the allure of Mykonos, with its sunny beaches and narrow streets. Browse the many shops and indulge in seafood and wine at the waterfront taverns.
Day 6: Mykonos - Santorini
Sail from Mykonos to Santorini, where you will be greeted by volcanic cliffs, lush vineyards, and whitewashed architecture.
Day 7: Santorini
Explore the natural and cultural attractions of Santorini, including a crater view from Oia and an excursion through Thira, the island’s capital city. End the day with a Santorini winery tour.
Day 8: Santorini
Spend the day at your leisure. Relax poolside at your hotel and enjoy the Mediterranean weather, or wander the streets of Thira checking out the many attractive boutiques and appealing markets. In the evening partake in a traditional Greek dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 9: Santorini - Athens - Thermopylae - Kalambaka
Return to the mainland with a flight* to Athens. A trip to Central Greece leads you to the ancient city of Thermopylae, where you will visit a monument dedicated to Leonidas, a man who was martyred defending the city against Persian enemies. Next, stop at a local studio to watch local artists at work. Your day concludes in the town of Kalambaka, situated at the foot of the Pindos Mountains.
Day 10: Kalambaka - Meteora - Kalambaka
Visit Meteora, where rock towers jut nearly 900 feet into the air. Byzantine monks once built their monastic community atop these nearly inaccessible rocks.
Day 11: Kalambaka - Delphi - Arachova
Today, visit the town of Delphi, home to the legendary Oracle of Delphi that foretold man’s destiny. A local guide will accompany you and explain the significance of the Doric Temple and the Sanctuary of Apollo.
Day 12: Arachova - Olympia
Travel back in time to Olympia and visit the site of the original Olympic Games held in 776 B.C. Tour the Olympic Stadium and the sanctuary of Zeus.
Day 13: Olympia - Nauplion - Tolo
Visit the seaside town of Nauplion, featuring the Palamedes Fort that overlooks the city and the Argolic Gulf. After an afternoon at leisure exploring Nauplion, travel to the captivating oceanfront town of Tolo for your overnight stay.
Day 14: Tolo - Epidauros - Mycenae - Athens
Travel to Epidauros and view its incredible 2,300 year old outdoor theater. Later, visit the ancient city of Mycenae, before returning to Athens for a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers.
Day 15: Athens - Tour Ends
Your tour of Greece concludes, but you will have many fond and enduring memories.
