The Wienerstube restaurant has been open since 1965 and has always been a popular eatery for both locals and visitors alike. Located in the historic downtown section of Aspen this pretty restaurant offers authentic Austrian cuisine, including Sauerbraten and Bratwurst, as its specialty however for the less adventurous it also serves a range of American and German dishes such as sirloin steak, pork chops and fish.
Surprisingly the Wienerstube is only open for breakfast and lunch and does not serve dinner, the opening times being 7am until 2.30 pm every day except Monday. This means that when the restaurant is open it is very popular and breakfast is always a busy time. You can choose to enjoy your meal inside the restaurant or on warm sunny mornings there is also the option of sitting in a pretty outdoor area with plenty of seating and a true romantic feel. For those of you who are in a rush, the Wienerstube also does a take out service.
The restaurant is very child friendly and offers a number of children's dishes that even the fussiest eaters will enjoy. It also has a fully licensed bar so that patrons can enjoy a variety of continental beers and wines with their lunch. Even though this eatery is described as a restaurant the dress code is very casual and virtually anything is accepted. It may be worth calling in advance during the tourist seasons of summer and winter to avoid disappointment, especially for lunch dates and large groups.
