The Redstone Art Center is a studio gallery and sculpture garden which features exquisite art in diverse media. The vast collection consists of fine and unique works of art, in the form of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, glass wood and photography.
In the paintings' section you can browse through watercolors by Kurt Isgreen, oils by Lennie Grant and Julia McKee and pastels by Henry Isaacs. Imaginative ceramic curios like tea pots, house cups and compotes in splashes of vivid colors and shiny blackware and black-on-black pots carved over with intricate geometric patterns and animal images make for the ingenuous range of ceramics. The jewelry collection by Elizabeth Rodgers consists of unique, high quality trinkets, hallmarked by their ethnic influence, extraordinary texture and distinct, unusual colors. You will also find graceful lamps, hand-blown glass vessels and a revolutionary form of art called 'Glass Tapestry.'
The woodwork gallery features unique carved boxes with primeval patterns of animals, flowers and birds. The sculpture garden also hosts the annual Stone Carvers' Exhibition which showcases the works of artists participating in Marble/marble XVIIII, which is a marble carving convention. The exhibition runs through September and features more than 50 works reflecting styles from abstract to supple figurative forms. The centre also conducts craft workshops of a high caliber, on Sunday afternoons in summer. The Redstone Arts Centre is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm everyday, all through the year.
