Mill Street Fountain in Aspen, CO
Aspen is fast becoming a popular vacation destination in the summer as well as the winter months. One of the big attractions for children is the Mill Street fountain which is described as a natural geyser fountain that springs up and releases jets of water at irregular intervals from a simple grate in the middle of the street.
Children and the young at heart love to jump over the jets while they are quiet in an attempt to make it across the fountain without getting wet. In the summer months this is a great pastime and a fun way to cool down. The fountain jets are strong enough to hold up small balls and balloons and competitions are regularly held by nearby cafes and shops to see who can get their balloon to go the highest.
The Mill Street fountain is situated close to Wagner Park and a children's playground so that youngsters have a choice of things to do. It is also close to a pedestrian's mall made up of shops and cafes which means that parents can shop while children play in safety. The fountain can clearly be seen from a number of nearby cafes so parents can relax with a cup of coffee and watch their children enjoy the fun or alternatively they can take a picnic to the park and wile the day away.
The Mill Street Fountain only releases clean, natural water making it very safe for children to play in and this means it is easily one of the most popular Aspen attractions during the hot summer months.
