Krabloonik in Snowmass Village, CO
The Krabloonik restaurant in Snowmass Village is located on a wonderful slope that gives visitors superb views of the surrounding mountains while they eat. The restaurant is actually a romantic log cabin that has a sunken fire pit and panoramic windows. It also has balcony seating for the warmer months. Dinner is served at the restaurant all year round and the option to enjoy lunch is added for the summer months. They have a drive-in facility and quite surprisingly a ski-in facility as well so that skiers coming down from the mountains can stop for a world class meal before continuing on their journey.
The menu is as unique as the restaurant and includes such specialties as caribou, elk, wild boar, salmon and trout and pheasant although the day to day selection depends to some extent on the success of the local hunters! In addition there is an extensive wine list to choose from to really complete the meal.
One of Krabloonik's biggest attractions is the dog kennel situated across from the restaurant. During the summer months kennel tours are available so that visitors can meet the dogs and see any new additions to the normal compliment. Then during winter dog sled rides are available that start in late November and continue through to April. Anybody taking a dog sled ride can also enjoy a complimentary lunch or dinner in the restaurant and for this reason it is advisable to make reservations for both the sled rides and the restaurant well in advance.
