For anyone who has ever wondered what it would be like to be a fighter pilot, the Flightdeck Air Combat Center should be on the top of the must-do list. Providing challenging aviation-themed adventures, the Center puts visitors in the ejection seat and behind the controls of a high performance military flight simulator. With full-immersion audio and seven networked simulators, pilots can fly solo or as a team and experience head-to-head air combat. Each adventure includes an authentic military aviation flight suit, pre-flight briefing, instrument and control orientation, flight time in a full-scale simulator, and radio communication with other pilots and the control tower.
Admission prices are a little steep, ranging from $49 to $79 and up, but the thrill of the experience is well worth it. The Center offers various "missions," which include take-off, basic maneuvers, dogfighting with pilots in other simulators, and aircraft carrier landings. The Center also offers special programs for corporate events and group parties.
