A trip to the Astor Classics Museum is an absolute must for anyone with an interest in early inventions and a taste for nostalgia.
The Museum, comprised of both the Automotive Museum and the Communications & Radio Museum, houses one of the most complete and fascinating collections of cars, telegraphs, telephones, televisions, and radios ever assembled.
Over 250 classic cars, from Model T Fords to Mustangs, have been restored to working order, as have all of the radio consoles and table radios. Highlights of the collection include Thomas Edison's first cylinder player, rare examples of early televisions, antique broadcast microphones, and telephones dating from 1882. Add to that vintage jukeboxes, model trains, and gas pumps, and the museum becomes one of the most interesting venues for parties, trade shows, and conferences. The Event Center facilities can accommodate 50-1500 guests, and include catering, bar service, DJs, and a dance floor, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Museum collections.
