No snow. Low humidity. Warm weather, sunny skies, very little rain. Located 13 miles from the Pacific Coastline. Is it heaven? Nope. (But pretty darn close.) It's Anaheim, California; tenth largest city in the state of California. Home to Disneyland, the Mighty Ducks, the Angels, and sunshine.
Anaheim seems the perfect "base camp" for visitors that want to enjoy California's many charms. The city seems to have been built for visitors and residents to take advantage of all that beautiful weather. They have a weekly Farmers Market and Crafts Fair, golf courses and public parks. Their "Art in Public Places" program beautifies the downtown buildings, streets and landscaping. There's a 25-mile bicycle trail that winds along the Santa Ana River and ends at the beach. The Oak Canyon Nature Center is 58 acres of natural beauty with hiking trails and canyons. And in the evening, Pearson Park Amphitheatre offers "Entertainment Under The Stars", with "Just For Kids" programs in the early evening followed by more adult fare later.
Because the city is just 28 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, Anaheim visitors will want to take the time to explore LA. A Los Angeles and Hollywood Tour should do the trick--guests will see some of the architectural and historical landmarks of LA, shop (or window-shop) Rodeo Drive, visit Santa Monica Boulevard, "do lunch" and pay a visit to Hollywood staples like Mann's Chinese Theater and Sunset Strip. The Best of L.A. Tour is a condensed version of this tour. For those that want to be 'wowed' by movie studio magic, Universal Studios in Hollywood cannot be missed!
Or why not head to San Diego, or even south of the border? Anaheim's proximity to these locales makes a tour of Tijuana, Mexico and Rosarito Beach easy and enjoyable! And the shows and animals at Sea World, San Diego are sure to make a splash!
Anaheim offers something for every personality. No wonder visitors to Anaheim think they're in heaven.
