Anaheim, CA Weather & Packing Advice

The Anaheim/Los Angeles area experiences pleasant weather year round. The seasons of the area are not very distinct and year-round temperatures do not vary greatly. The area is not too hot, not too cold — making it the favorite vacation destination of travelers around the globe.

Spring - In spring the average lows range from the high upper forties to the mid fifties and highs are usually in the seventies. Bring a windbreaker or sweater for the cooler nights, and you're good to go.

Summer - Summer sees temperature lows in the sixties and highs in the upper seventies to lower eighties. When visiting during this time of year, pack very light clothing such as sleeveless shirts, shorts and bathing suits. Bring plenty of sunscreen to protect your skin from the summer sun.

Fall - September and October temperatures average lows in the fifties and sixties and highs in the eighties. November temperatures drop into lows in the fifties and highs in the seventies. Bring a light jacket for the cooler nights.

Winter - The winter months are warm compared to most of the country with average high temperatures in the upper sixties and low seventies and lows dropping into the fifties. Again, a light jacket, windbreaker or warm sweater will suffice at this time of year.

Packing Advice

While the seasonal temperatures of the area are pretty steady and predictable, good preparation and common sense are a good rule of thumb to follow to ensure that you are properly packed for your trip. The tips below will help you with your packing, regardless of the season you're traveling in.

Planning Your Packing. Anything you forget to pack, you'll have to buy. It is wise to make a list of everything you need to take with you and refer to it as you pack. This will ensure that nothing will be overlooked (and anything that is, is a good excuse to go shopping).

  • Preparing Clothes. Lay everything out before you pack. Fold, layer, and pack all like items together. Use undergarments and socks to fill space. Put toiletries and loose items in waterproof containers, in a kit or separate bag.
  • Packing For Family Members. With the exception of toddlers and infants, each family member should be able to carry at least one piece of luggage. A small backpack is ideal when traveling with young children.
  • Packing For Comfort. Products that will help you withstand the humidity, as well as sunscreen, are a must. Natural fibers like cotton or silk and light colors are good choices for hot days. To avoid aching feet, pack a pair of familiar walking shoes.
  • Always check the forecast before leaving to ensure that you are properly prepared for any weather changes.
