For years Gecko's Bar and Tapas in the southeast quarter of Albuquerque has been a popular hangout for students and sport lovers, the owners finally opened a second venue in the northeast quarter. Both bars have a large number of TVs and you can watch just about any sporting event on any sporting channel that takes your fancy. The menu includes salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches however many of the bar meals manage to turn old favorites into something unique and the tapas selections are worthy of the uptown restaurants. The Gecko Bar is extensively stocked with wines, beers and spirits and regardless of what you choose to eat there will be a drink available to compliment it.
In fact the bar has 14 premium beers on tap and a huge range of bottled beers as well. The wine list is equally as impressive and you can ask for pretty much any cocktail you want and the staff will endeavor to make it. The patio area has recently been extended and is now dog-friendly so you can have a meal and a drink in the sun, chill out with your favorite sporting event and even take your best friend along with you!
