Most people will have heard of the El Pinto brand of Salsa however some will not know that the brand originated as a family recipe and that the same family has run a very popular restaurant in Albuquerque since 1962. The El Pinto Restaurant is an authentic Mexican restaurant that uses traditional recipes to make a wide range of top quality meals. They are open for business from 11am to 9pm Monday through to Thursday, 11am to 10pm Friday and Saturday and 10.30am to 9pm on Sunday. If you don't have time to sit and eat a full meal the restaurant also offers a large take-out menu as well.
The seating in the restaurant is set out to be romantic and private with lots of little nooks available or alternatively you can enjoy the shady patio on a pleasant summer evening. El Pinto serves their award winning Salsa and Chile before your meal arrives and this can be sampled with a variety of tasty starters or Tortilla chips. The menu is extensive and contains options such as enchilada, taco and burrito dishes, traditional Chile con carne and even steak for the less adventurous. They also offer a number of low fat options as well.
You can also phone in advance and book a tour around the El Pinto Salsa factory where 15,000 jars of their famous red and green Chile and salsa are produced everyday. President Bush is just one of the many celebrities that have eaten at the El Pinto restaurant and rumor has it he even took the tour before eating dinner!
