Capilla de la Paz in Acapulco, GR is a contemporary chapel also known as the Chapel of Peace. The construction is a stylish pyramid with an impressive architecture from the Art Deco style. Capilla de la Paz is in the residential area of Las Brisas. From the chapel, you can see a great view of the entire bay of Acapulco with the chapel 1200 feet above sea level. This can be seen from all over the city. The landscaping around the chapel is beautiful consisting of artificial waterfalls, rivers, gardens and many different paths. Make sure you have your camera with you when you visit this beautiful historical landmark.
There is a cross on it that is over 130 feet tall. Right below the cross you will see a bronze sculpture that is a symbol for two praying hands, which points towards the sky. The chapel is a nondenominational chapel so it is often chosen for wedding ceremonies with couples that are of different religious faiths. The chapel was built by the Trouyet family for this very purpose, so that people of different religious beliefs could still meet and have a harmonious place to worship.
This chapel was built very sturdily with concrete steel with the roof being asbestos-cement with iron sulphate for extra support. There is also granite and rock with pink paving stone in the design. This chapel is eloquent to view and a true masterpiece.
This is a church that is a piece of the history of Acapulco and used by many people for their worship. It is probably one of the most beautiful landmarks and makes an exceptional place for weddings.
