Cinco de Mayo in Acapulco, GR

Cinco del Mayo in Acapulco, GR The Cinco del Mayo is a spectacular Mexican event that celebrates Mexican victory over French forces in the state of Puebla and to some extent Acapulco, Mexico, adjacent states that highlight the beauty and commerce of the country. It is a regionally recognized holiday and is also celebrated in parts of the United States. All celebrations are a feast for the eyes of colorful costumes in the Spanish-Mexican style. The tribute to the Mexican forces is especially due to the surprise victory over France at the "Battle of Pueblo." Wonderful exhibits of traditional Mexican symbols are used for the celebration such as the Virgen de Guadalupe and specially selected heroic figures. There is a pledge of allegiance at all capital cities in Mexico by the military men and great celebrations with food, dancing and music. The four largest cities here are Puebla, Tehuacan, Acapulco and Chilpancingo de los Bravo, the final two in Guerrero. Guerrero is a scenic and beautiful place to vacation with a government created beach and resorts in Ixtapa. These resorts include villas with splendid touches worked in and modern high speed streets all designed by famous Mexican architects.
